25 Reasons to Work With Us + Bonus Workout
This is a way for you to get to know us better, and to have a clearer understanding of what we do.
Most of these are genuine reasons, but I had some fun with it, too.

Without further ado… the list:
1. We have marital spats (i.e. we fight).
I realize this is a weird one to start with. But I think it’s important to admit up front that we aren’t perfect, and we don’t expect perfection from you.
What we do expect is a willingness to learn from your mistakes and move on.
2. We are for normal people.
We find there’s a gap in the fitness world.
Billions of dollars are spent on products marketed to regular folks, but based on advanced techniques better suited for athletes, or at least people already in great shape.
We’ll help you sort through the b.s. and find a strategy that works for your normal, busy life.
3. We’ve been through it.
From Megan’s dislike of exercise, to my disdain of cooking.
From my struggles with weight gain to Megan’s struggles with weight loss.
We’ve tried the fads, we’ve been forced to extremes with our son’s dairy/egg allergies, and we’ve come out the other side knowing every struggle can be overcome… and the answer isn’t as complicated as you think.
4. We’re uncomplicated.
There’s no need to break out your graphing calculator, or any high school biology textbooks.
Despite what you’ve been led to believe, losing weight, getting in shape — this stuff is simple. It’s not easy, but there are no tricks involved. We’ll show you how.
5. We’re BPA free.
That’s right, the stuff that’s not in your kids plastic cups anymore… we aren’t made of it either. I checked.
Same goes for asbestos, lead, or any nasty thing you personally can’t stand, like green olives. You don’t have to worry about exposure to any of that when you work with us.
6. We keep it real.
If you need to work around a cold or flu, a special occasion or a family emergency, we get it. We’ll help you navigate your fitness and nutrition through anything life throws at you.
7. We customize everything.
Unexpected life events are one thing. Your day to day lifestyle is another, and it’s as unique as you are.
That’s why every person we work with gets a totally different plan based on their individual needs. That way your efforts will be effective!
8. You’ll get results.
I hesitate to show before/after pictures because, while it can be encouraging for some, it can make others feel like they’re not progressing fast enough, or like they’re just not good at this.
It’s possible to get great results in only 3 months, like our client Diana did:
But for reasons that can be both physical and emotional, most people need more time.
Lasting change usually takes at least 6 months, which is why we recently updated the minimum commitment for our programs to 6 months.
We want to make sure you not only get great results, but that they stick around long after you're done working with us.
9. My personal endorsement…
“I’m the 5th cutest in the family according to my son.”
That’s gotta be a good reason to work with me, right?
10. Megan’s personal endorsement…
“Working with me involves some amount of chocolate.”
She would never ask you to completely give up the foods you love.
11. The cost.
Everyone should hire a trainer at some point, but I won’t be offended if you don’t pick us. You need the right fit for you.
That said, you get what you pay for. And our prices are comparable to other (good) trainers. The difference is, with us, you get so much more than a quick once a week training session.
12. You’ll have our personal support.
We won’t give you a plan and then hang you out to dry.
We stay in touch with our clients on an almost daily basis. If you have questions, we’re available. If something isn’t working, let’s change it.
13. We respond quickly.
Actually, this is true whether you’re working with us one-on-one (which is great if you need help with your program), or if you just contact us out of the blue with a question.
We encourage you to get in touch with us as often as you need.
14. We’re a small business.
This is what allows us to offer the personal support we do.
No matter how big the business grows, we’ll always limit the number of one-on-one coaching clients we take on (as we do now). That way we’ll always have the personal touch of a small business.
15. We’re fitness AND nutrition.
Instead of one coach, who’s good at one thing and ok-ish at the other, you get two coaches, with separate areas of expertise, united as one.
16. We’re science based.
This is extremely important.
There are lots of studies out there, and some of them are downright deceptive. But that doesn’t mean you should disregard all studies like some people do.
It means you need to look at each individual study in the context of the bigger picture. We sort through all that because we believe it’s the only way to find the most reliable and effective methods.
17. We don’t test on animals.
But we do test our programs on friends and family.
So far none of them have any extra appendages, glowing red eyes, or new quirks (plenty of old quirks, but that’s not our fault). I’d say that’s a good sign.
18. We have no “in-app” purchases.
OK so we don’t have an app, but that’s not the point.
What I mean is we’ll work with what you have. If you don’t want to go to a gym, your workouts can be based at home. And we won’t try to sell you supplements or other products you don’t want/need.
19. We speak many languages.
That’s a bit of a stretch. Google translate speaks many languages and we have google translate on our phones. So it’s basically true.
20. We speak your language.
This one is 100% true. Our world consists of words like adenosine tri-phosphate, and eccentric (pronounced E-centric) movements. Yours doesn’t.
We won’t use big words you don’t need to know just to make ourselves look good. That’s not helpful to you. We’ll make sure you understand what you’re doing.
21. We’re patient when you don’t want to be.
In a world filled with “quick fixes,” it’s easy to end up with unrealistic expectations.
When you start to lose patience, we’ll be right there with you. Sometimes all you need is a reminder that you’re doing the right thing, it’s just going to take time.
22. Our milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, and they’re like, it’s better than yours…
So this one was supposed to just be ridiculous, but it got me thinking, Megan makes some delicious, healthy smoothies.
Which got me thinking about how she’s such a great cook.
Which then made me think of all the advice she has to offer anyone who needs help with that sort of thing.
And now it doesn’t seem quite so ridiculous. Right?
23. We’re moderately funny.
This might seem subjective. But it’s not. We’re funny. Get over it.
24. You’ll have freedom.
We’ve found, especially when it comes to food, people spend years in a world of diets, and losing/gaining weight. They feel imprisoned by it.
When we help with nutrition, it’s about so much more than a diet. It’s a way to give you freedom from false expectations, extreme diets, photoshopped bodies, and guilt.
25. We care.
I know I can’t force you to believe this.
Hopefully everything you just read is at least a little evidence of how much we care.
